


HILARY DUFF AND KEVIN ZEGERS TO STAR AS THE INFAMOUS
BONNIE AND CLYDE IN THE STORY OF BONNIE AND CLYDE
NEW FEATURE FILM (NOT A REMAKE) FROM CYPRESS MOON STUDIOS TO BE DIRECTED BY TONYA S. HOLLY
Sheffield, AL/Los Angeles, CA – Hillary Duff and Kevin Zegers, two of the hottest young talents in the
industry, have signed on to star as two of the most renowned young fugitives in history in the new feature
film The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.
The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, a new adaptation (not a remake) of the classic love story, tells the thrilling
story of the notorious fugitives. Taking place during the 1930's Depression, the film uncovers many times
in their lives that have never before been seen on the big screen.
Hilary Duff will star as Bonnie Parker in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde opposite Zegers Clyde Barrow. Duff
who first gained worldwide recognition in such popular televisions series as Disney’s Lizzie McGuire as well as
numerous feature films including Cheaper By the Dozen and Raise Your Voice is among the few child actors
successfully transitioning from beloved young talent to admired and versatile adult actress by appearing in
such films as the recently released political satire War, Inc. Duff is also an accomplished singer whose top
selling albums include her latest “Most Wanted”. Duff is also an esteemed fashion, fragrance and beauty
trendsetter.
Kevin Zegers will star as Clyde Barrow. Zegers is an accomplished young actor steadily proving the range of
his talent. Zegers has starred in such popular films as the Air Bud film franchise and MVP: Most Valuable
Primate. Zegers has recently starred in such notable films as the Academy Award nominated Transamercia,
and The Jane Austen Book Club.
Tonya S. Holly of Cypress Moon Studios will direct the film that she also wrote based on her early
fascination with the love torn lovers turned fugitives and years of extensive research. "I have lived with The
Story of Bonnie and Clyde in my mind for years," said Holly who was first intrigued by the historical legacies
after finding old newspapers articles about their exploits in an abandoned house on her families property.
“It started as a research paper for my high school English class and grew over the years as a story I had to
write and share with the world. I am thrilled to have Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers as Bonnie and Clyde. I
look forward to working with them.” The Story of Bonnie and Clyde is set to be shot in Louisiana,
Mississippi and Alabama. Natalie Canerday (Slingblade, When I Find The Ocean) and Rance Howard
(Frost/Nixon, Psycho) have also signed on to appear in the film with many other name talent to be
announced shortly.
Most recently, Holly wrote, produced and directed the company's premiere award-winning feature film When
I Find The Ocean which won top honors at the prestigious KidsFirst! Film Festival for 2008 Best Independent
Feature Ages 12-18. The film, which has received the official Dove Seal of Approval by the Dove Foundation
(www.dove.org) as well as the Kids First! Endorsement, stars Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man, The Fall
Guy), Diane Ladd (Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore), Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves), Richard Tyson
(Kindergarten Cop), George Lindsey (The Andy Griffith Show) Bernie Casey (Another 48 Hours), and Amy
Redford (The Guitar) and introduces Lily Matland Holly.
The home base for Cypress Moon Studios is in Sheffield, Alabama, located in the historic building that was
formerly known as Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Holly purchased the studio where such music legends as
Bob Dylan, Bob Segar and The Allman Brothers have recorded among many others.
Cypress Moon Studios has a current production slate that boasts numerous feature films including a
fantastical action adventure trilogy titled Sleeping Giant: Union of the Seven as well as numerous television
series. Cypress Moon Studios opened its first satellite office in Philadelphia, Mississippi, where Holly plans
to shoot portions of The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.
Holly, who founded and has served as president of the Alabama Filmmakers Association since 1991, is also
one of state’s most prolific advocates of initiating tax incentives and is frequently invited to speak about
the topic at various film festivals, film markets and political gatherings throughout the country.
With a career in the film industry that spans close to two decades ago and includes a wide range of
experience ranging from extras casting to production, Holly has worked on more than 17 films including Toy
Soldiers starring Louis Gossett Jr., and Sean Astin as well as the Oscar award winning film Blue Sky starring
Jessica Lang and Tommy Lee Jones. Holly has also worked with CBS, HBO, NBC, FOX, Morgan Creek,
Universal, Buena Vista, and many other independent production companies.
